Defence Advisor from India Meets with Deputy Minister of Defence
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), recently met with the Defence Advisor of the High Commission of India, Captain Anand Mukundan, and Assistant Defence Advisor Lieutenant Colonel Mandeep Singh Negi at the Deputy Minister’s office in Colombo.
Captain Mukundan officially invited the Deputy Minister to attend India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations on January 26. The meeting also focused on exploring opportunities to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation.
They also discussed the longstanding defence cooperation between Sri Lanka and India, emphasizing the importance of building strong people-to-people connections and acknowledging India’s ongoing military assistance.
Major General Jayasekara praised India’s support in anti-narcotic operations and highlighted the mutual dedication to tackling this critical issue. The meeting solidified the enduring friendship and collaborative efforts between Sri Lanka and India.
