President Set to Return to Island Tonight Following Successful State Visit in China
President Anura Kumara Disanayake is scheduled to arrive back in Sri Lanka tonight (17) after successfully completing his four-day state visit to China.
During the last day of his visit, President Disanayake met with Wang Xiaohui, the Secretary of the Communist Party of China for the Sichuan Province.
Following the meeting, the President visited the Dongfang Electric Corporation in Chengdu City, the provincial capital of Sichuan.
To mark the end of his state visit, President Disanayake also toured the Shanqi Model Village, which showcases sustainable rural development efforts, and the National Science, Technology, and Agriculture Center in Sichuan.
The delegation accompanying the President included Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Vijitha Herath, and Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, Bimal Rathnayake, who took part in these engagements.
