President Anura Kumara Disanayaka to Embark on State Visit to Vietnam
President Anura Kumara Disanayaka is set to embark on a State Visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam from 04 May to 06 May 2025, following an invitation from President Luong Cuong of Viet Nam.
During his visit, President Disanayaka will engage in official talks with both the President and Prime Minister of Viet Nam and will meet with senior officials, including the General Secretary of the Communist Party. He will also serve as the Chief Guest at the United Nations Day of Vesak ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, where he will deliver the keynote address. The visit is expected to result in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding and Agreements, with planned interactions with the business community.
This visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam aims to further strengthen the robust ties between the two nations, as they celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations this year.
The President will be joined by Vijitha Herath, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, along with senior Government officials.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will visit Vietnam from May 4 to 6, 2025, at the invitation of President Luong Cuong. He will engage in discussions with Vietnam’s President, Prime Minister, and other high-ranking officials. As the Chief Guest at the United Nations Day of Vesak in Ho Chi Minh City, he will deliver the keynote address. The visit aims to solidify bilateral relations as the countries celebrate 55 years of diplomatic ties. Several Memoranda of Understanding and Agreements are expected to be signed. Dissanayake will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath and senior officials.
