Sri Lankan Ambassador to Jordan Visits Amman’s Royal Academy of Culinary Arts
Sri Lanka Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, J.A.D.S. Priyangika Wijegunasekara, recently visited the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) in Amman to explore potential cultural exchanges between Sri Lanka and Jordan.
The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) is a non-profit private Jordanian institution founded in 2008 to realize His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision of a premier culinary school in Amman, adhering to the highest international standards and integrating the Swiss experience of combining practical and academic education.
RACA’s Director, Chef Jacques Rossel, guided Ambassador Wijegunasekara on a tour, showcasing the various academic facilities and programs available.
The Ambassador and RACA’s Director discussed future cooperation opportunities involving practical training, events, and various activities. The Director also extended an invitation to the Embassy to join the forthcoming International Food Festival 2025 organized by the academy, offering a platform to present global culinary traditions to numerous visitors.
The Ambassador donated a book titled ‘Sri Lanka Food,’ authored by a Sri Lankan writer, to the academy’s library. This visit marked a positive step towards enhancing cultural ties between Sri Lanka and Jordan.
