Jayagamu to Puttalam: A Sri Lankan Journey
The upcoming “Jayagamu Sri Lanka People’s Mobile Service” program is set to happen at Chilaw’s “Shirley Corea” Stadium on June 14 and 15, coordinated by the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment. The goal is to cultivate a generation of skilled Sri Lankan workers who are ready for the digital age.
Since its establishment, Minister Manusha Nanayakkara’s “Jayagamu Sri Lanka” initiative has effectively expanded to various districts across the country, assisting an increasing number of job seekers and employed individuals daily.
Funds for public welfare are allocated under the guidance of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment and associated organizations like the Shrama Vasana Fund, Garusaru, Smart Youth Club, and Migrant Worker Harasara. For instance, educational materials for students from low-income families and smart boards for schools are provided to residents of the Puttalam area.
In addition to enhancing awareness of career opportunities, “Jayagamu Sri Lanka” also promotes entrepreneurship among low-income and migrant worker households. The program encourages community involvement with all Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment entities, allowing for local completion of tasks that would otherwise require a trip to the Colombo office.
