Ambassador Ameer Ajwad Meets with Governor of Saudi Authority on Foreign Trade to Discuss Productive Agenda
Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Omar Lebbe Ameer Ajwad had a meeting with the Governor of Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT) Mohammad Alabduljabar at GAFT Headquarters in Riyadh recently.
During the meeting, GAFT Governor Mohammad Alabduljabar welcomed Ambassador Ameer Ajwad to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various sectors for mutual benefit. He assured GAFT’s support for this initiative.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad, pointing out the historical trade connections between Sri Lanka and Arab nations, identified areas of potential collaboration between the two countries. He suggested cooperation in specific sectors such as food, agriculture, IT, manufacturing, hospitality, real estate, and construction for trade and investment purposes. The Ambassador also expressed Sri Lanka’s willingness to assist Saudi Arabia in achieving its Vision 2030 and invited a trade delegation from GAFT to visit Sri Lanka for further exploration.
Deputy Governor of International Relations Abdulaziz Alsakran, Senior Officials of GAFT, and First Secretary (Commerce) of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh Tashma Vithanawasam were also present at the meeting.
Ambassador Ameer Ajwad of Sri Lanka met with GAFT Governor Alabduljabar in Riyadh to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Governor Alabduljabar emphasized the importance of collaboration in sectors like food, agriculture, IT, manufacturing, and hospitality for mutual benefit. Ambassador Ajwad highlighted the historical trade links between Sri Lanka and Arab nations and proposed partnership in various sectors. He invited a trade delegation from Saudi Arabia to visit Sri Lanka for further discussion. Deputy Governor Alsakran, officials from GAFT, and representatives from the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh also participated in the meeting.
