The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce introduced the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability (BCCS) Awards 2024 during a seminar to inform potential applicants about the Award process for the year 2024. In its twenty-first consecutive year, the BCCS Awards focus on promoting corporate sustainability in a world facing increasing environmental challenges, making it a highly anticipated event in the corporate world.

The information session was conducted by Mr. Rathika de Silva, a sustainability expert and Chairman of the Panel of Evaluators. Emphasizing the importance of integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices into core business activities and corporate strategies, Mr. Rathika de Silva encouraged companies to continue enhancing their implementation of ESG practices.

Other speakers included Mr. Ravi De Silva, Prof. Sashika Manoratne, Mr. Daniel Dissanayaka, and Ms. Imalka Iddamalgoda. The panel guided participants through the application process, emphasizing key areas for presentation and submission related to the award categories such as Environment, Customer Relations, Community Relations, Employee Relations, Governance, Financial Performance, and Economic Contribution.

Mr. Azam Bakeer Markar provided insights on the application process for the Best Projects Sustainability Awards. These awards recognize the endeavors of both private and public sectors in developing and executing projects that promote sustainability and make a positive impact on people or the planet.
