Certificate awarding of 03rd lifesaving programme held in Kareinagar

After having accomplished the 03rd lifesaving programme which was held beneath the patronage of the Navy, Sri Lanka Lifesaving Affiliation and North Wind Venture in Kareinagar, eight (08) youths in Jaffna had been acknowledged on 06th January 2023.

The certificates awarding ceremony on this regard was held beneath the auspices of Deputy Space Commander Northern Naval Space, Commodore Priyal Vithanage on the Fort Hammenheil Resort.

Going by an concept mooted by the incumbent Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, in the course of the time when he was the Commander Northern Naval Space, this lifesaving coaching course was began, with the intention of encouraging the youth within the Jaffna space. The primary two programmes (three weeks) had been held in October and November 2021 at SLNS Elara in Kareinagar with the assist of Navy’s Speedy Response Rescue & Aid Unit (4RU).

On profitable completion of the three weeks lengthy course began 14th December 2022, 03rd coaching programme which the 08 youths who sharpened their data, angle and expertise to take care of water associated lifesaving actions acquired their certificates. Rear Admiral Aruna Tennakoon, the Commander of the Northern Naval Space, supplied a strong backing for the programme’s execution.

Commanding Officer SLNS Elara, Captain Nalinda Kumara, officers from the Northern Naval Command, Mr. Sameera Jewantha the Secretary of Sri Lanka Life Saving Affiliation and Mr. Jekhan Aruliah the consultant of North Wind Venture had been additionally current on this event.
