A meeting regarding the upcoming series of religious events at Sithulpawwa and Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharayas took place today (08) at the Presidential Secretariat, led by Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

In this meeting, the Chief Incumbents of the Sithulpawwa and Tissamaharama temples asked the Secretary to the President to arrange necessary facilities for the large crowd of devotees expected to attend.

Venerable Lelwala Samitha Thero, the Viharadhikari of Sithulpawwa Raja Maha Viharaya, specifically urged the immediate repair of the road from Kataragama to Sithulpawwa.

Consequently, Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake directed the relevant officials to take the required actions to successfully organize the Poson religious events at both Sithulpawwa and Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharayas.

The meeting included Venerable Dr. Dewalegama Dhammasena Thero, Chief Incumbent of Tissamaharama Viharaya, Senior Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, Hambantota District Secretary, Bimal Indrajith Silva, and several heads of relevant government institutions.


A meeting was held on October 8th at the Presidential Secretariat to discuss upcoming religious events at Sithulpawwa and Tissamaharama Raja Maha Viharayas. Led by Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, the discussion focused on providing facilities for the large number of expected devotees. Venerable Lelwala Samitha Thero requested immediate repairs to the road connecting Kataragama and Sithulpawwa. Dr. Kumanayake directed officials to ensure the successful organization of the Poson religious events. Attendees included Venerable Dr. Dewalegama Dhammasena Thero, Senior Additional Secretary Roshan Gamage, and other officials.
