Government Officials Sensitized on Early Detection of Non-Communicable Diseases by Prime Minister’s Office

A program was conducted by the Prime Minister’s Office to educate public servants on the importance of early detection and prevention of non-communicable diseases. The event, held under the theme “A Healthy Workforce for a Healthy Nation”, aimed to raise awareness and promote early detection among public servants. The program took place at the Main Hall of Temple Trees yesterday (28), with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya in attendance.

Various medical tests were provided as part of this initiative, including kidney function tests, blood sugar level assessments, cholesterol checks, dental examinations, and cervical cancer screenings. The approach to healthcare included both Western and indigenous medical practices to ensure a holistic approach.

Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, along with Additional Secretaries Harsha Wijewardene, Mahinda Gunaratne, and many other public officials, participated in the event.
