We spent two days one night at Hotel Heritage and that was a delightful experience for my family. The price is reasonable. The staff is so friendly and supportive. Massage is available.In March 2024, our room 222 (2F) was large with a balcony overlooking the front garden. The state of the room immediately made it clear renovation was overdue. No maintenance. The room had a firm double bed, television, good Wi-Fi reception and a dirty fridge. Besides the poor condition, the cleaning was clearly substandard. With so many staff members on duty, does anybody know how to clean a hotel room properly?The restaurant offers buffet or a la cart dinning in an air-conditioned area. Ample choice of Sri Lankan and continental dishes that tasted good but are not special. The flavours are clearly aimed at tourist. The sports bar is not a cosy place to have a drink, but more like abandoned arcade.The Heritage is an old hotel, lacking maintenance and cleaning, with a nice pool.

We returned to the Heritage Hotel after 2 previous positive experiences of staying there. The most compelling aspects of this property are its location on the banks of the Tissa Wewa, within easy reach of the sacred sites of Anuradhapura, a great swimming pool that makes for the ideal place to relax in the afternoons, and the friendly and attentive staff.We enjoyed a very warm welcome and efficient check in, thanks to Janaka, the front desk manager. We were running late and wanted to quickly set off toRuwanweliseya, and Janaka ensured that we were able to do this.We also had some delicious meals, both at the well stocked buffets and when ordering'a la carte'. The service provided by the staff under the leadership of the restaurant manager, Hemantha, was excellent.Only issue is that the fittings in the room and bathroom are quite old and need updating. However, everything was clean and functional.
