A gathering befell between Indian Extreme Commissioner H.E. Gopal Baglay and President Ranil Wickremesinghe on the Presidential Secretariat within the current day (04).
The discussions focussed on elevating nationwide milk manufacturing and providing wanted technical assist to the manufacturing of liquid milk in Sri Lanka together with the Nationwide Dairy Enchancment Board (NDDB) of India and Amul Milk Agency. The goal is to make Sri Lanka self-sufficient in milk and milk merchandise in the long term with fast and medium time interval targets to double native milk manufacturing.
The President appointed a committee consisting of representatives of the personal and non-private sectors to work with the multidisciplinary crew of the Nationwide Dairy Enchancment Board of India to prepare a short, medium and long-term plan for the occasion of the dairy sector throughout the nation. This endeavour is aimed towards stopping the decline in milk manufacturing and dependence on imported milk in Sri Lanka. The dialogue was held between the members of the committee and representatives of the Nationwide Dairy Board of India (NDDB).
The dialogue was attended by Indian Extreme Commissioner H.E. Gopal Baglay, Dr. Rakesh Pandey, First Secretary, Monetary and Enterprise Affairs, representatives of the Nationwide Dairy Enchancment Board of India and Amul Milk Agency, Mr. Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Advisor to the President on Nationwide Security and Chief of Presidential Staff, Mr. Saman Ekanayake, President’s Secretary and a bunch of personal and non-private sector representatives appointed by the President.
