“Nation-building cannot be achieved by the government, party, or political authority alone. It requires the collective effort of all citizens and sectors of society.
As public servants, you have a special duty to serve the people. The Clean Sri Lanka initiative is not just about keeping the environment clean, but also about changing societal mindsets. The Ministry of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education plays a crucial role in this transformation.
To improve the perception of public service and make it a system that solves the people’s problems, we must promote a positive image of public service. A key goal of the government is to elevate vocational education to a central position in the education system.
We have given you the opportunity to work diligently. The government will fully support and protect public servants dedicated to rebuilding the country.
To provide a quality education system for the nation’s children, we must foster an intellectual transformation through education. Many of the institutions that can drive this change are housed within the Ministry of Education. The objective is not just to produce graduates for jobs, but to cultivate individuals who can serve as intellectual and cultural forces capable of transforming the country.”
State Minister Dr. Madura Seneviratne, Ministry Secretary Nalaka Kaluwewa, Additional Secretaries, and a group of department heads and officials attended the event.
