Do you enjoy hiking or the outdoors? Or would you like to provide some useful observations about geographic diversity? You should go to Moon Plains, also known as Sandathenna in Sinhala. One of the best locations in the hill region to experience a 360-degree panorama is Moon Plains. This location’s unique selling point is that it offers a wide-angle vista of the towns and mountains. The border between Sri Lanka’s Central Province and Uva Province is Sandathenna. There are also more than 100 different bird species, wild boars, deer, and castles there.

You will be able to observe nine peak points of well-known Sri Lankan mountains when you get there. The names of these places include Piduruthalagala, Kikiliyamana, Great Western, Konical Hill, Kirigalpoththa, Thotupala, Haggala, and Namunukula. Famous Piduruthalagala is the tallest mountain, followed by Kirigalpoththa, which is second, and Thotupala, which is sixth in terms of height.
The picturesque view of the mountain summit will rely on the erratic mist state. Therefore, sunrise and sunset are the greatest times to watch. The region typically experiences 17°C on average, with a minimum of 14°C. The hottest month is March, while December has the coldest weather (about 14 degrees Celsius). You can organize your journey according to your preferred weather and wet season. In this area, the driest months are often July and October.
