Most Venerable Dr. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera appointed as Chancellor of Rajarata University
President Anura Kumara Disanayake has chosen Most Ven. Dr. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera to serve as the Chancellor of the Rajarata University of Sri Lanka.
Most Ven. Dr. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera was officially appointed this afternoon (14) at the Presidential Secretariat by the Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.
Most Ven. Dr. Gallelle Sumanasiri Thera, the new Chancellor of the Rajarata University, is the Chief Incumbent of the Harankahawa Molagoda Rajamaha Viharaya. He also holds the position of Kandy District Secretary of the All-Ceylon Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya and previously served as Vice-Chancellor of the Homagama Pali and Buddhist University.
The ceremony was attended by Ven Denike Ananda Thera, Ven. Karagaswewa Vajira Thera, Ven. Vitharandeniye Nanda Thera, and other monks and laypersons. After the official appointment, the Secretary to the President had a friendly discussion with the Maha Sangha and other attendees.
