Mr. Sagala Ratnayaka distributes cricket equipment to 67 schools in the Gampaha district

With the aim of promoting cricket in the schools of the Gampaha district, cricket equipment was handed out to 67 schools on the 15th at the Presidential Secretariat. This initiative was overseen by Mr. Sagala Ratnayaka, the Chief of Staff to the President and the President’s Senior Adviser on National Security.

The distribution was organized by the Youth Vision 2048 organization and the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, in line with President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s vision. Mr. Sagala Ratnayaka provided the necessary guidance for the successful implementation of the program.

During his speech, Mr. Ratnayaka stressed the significance of school cricket in nurturing talented players for the national team. He also acknowledged President Wickremesinghe’s dedication to rebuilding the country’s economy over the past two years. The President is committed to establishing an economic plan that ensures a bright future for the nation’s youth in a corruption-free environment.

Mr. Ruwan Wijewardena, Presidential Adviser on Climate Change, also addressed the audience, praising all those involved in enhancing the sports skills of future generations.

The event was attended by Director Youth Affairs and Sustainable Development of the President’s Office Mr. Sathira Sarachchandra, Youth Vision 2048 Advisor Dr. Lasantha Gunawardena, Youth Vision 2048 President Dan Poddiwela, as well as officials and principals from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board, sports instructors, and students.


Cricket equipment was distributed to 67 schools in the Gampaha district to develop cricket at the school level.
