Sri Lanka Police use water cannons and tear gas to disperse protesters

Police fired tear fuel and used water cannons to disperse protesters at Ibbanwala Junction close to City Corridor in Colombo throughout the demonstration organised by the Nationwide Individuals’s Energy (NPP).

The NPP protest was staged towards the federal government demanding the holding of elections immediately.

The NPP protest march reached the City Corridor, Colombo regardless of the Courtroom Order.

Police has blocked the motion of the protest march at City Corridor and the police learn out the court docket order to the protesters.

JVP leaders together with its chief Anura Kumara Dissanayake participated within the protest.


UPDATE – 06:34 PM: Practically 28 individuals who sustained minor accidents throughout the protest march in Colombo have been admitted to the Colombo Nationwide Hospital, Hospital sources stated.
