Pakistan’s High Commissioner visits Deputy Minister of Defence in courtesy call
His Excellency Major General Faheem Ul Aziz (Retd), the High Commissioner of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, recently visited the office of Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), the Deputy Minister of Defence, in Colombo.
During their meeting, they discussed the importance of bilateral defence cooperation and various areas of mutual interest. These included increasing training opportunities for the Sri Lankan armed forces to better prepare them for present and future security challenges, as well as exploring ways to enhance Sri Lanka’s capabilities in combating narcotics through technical support and expertise from Pakistan. They also discussed collaborating on counter-terrorism efforts to address social insecurity.
The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the Pakistani High Commissioner for the longstanding cooperation and friendly relations between their countries. The meeting reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to continued partnership and collaboration.
