President Disanayake Begins a Four-Day State Visit to China
President Anura Kumara Disanayake is scheduled to leave the country this evening (13) for a four-day state visit to the People’s Republic of China.
This visit, set to take place from January 14 to 17, is being made at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During the visit, President Disanayake will engage in discussions with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, as well as interact with other senior Chinese officials to enhance diplomatic relations.
The agenda will focus on key areas such as technology, agriculture, and poverty alleviation. The President will also visit strategic facilities and participate in high-level business forums to boost economic collaboration and investment opportunities.
Several bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between Sri Lanka and China will be signed during the visit.
This visit marks President Disanayake’s second international state visit since taking office and is seen as a significant step in reinforcing the longstanding partnership between Sri Lanka and China. The visit is expected to greatly enhance bilateral relations, especially in the fields of trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
