President Disanayake sets off on a four-day diplomatic trip to China
President Anura Kumara Disanayake is scheduled to leave the country this evening (13) for a four-day state visit to the People’s Republic of China.
This visit, happening from January 14 to 17, is happening at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During the visit, President Disanayake will have meetings with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, as well as interact with other senior Chinese officials to enhance diplomatic ties.
The key focus areas of the agenda include technology, agriculture, and poverty alleviation. Additionally, the President is set to tour strategic facilities and participate in high-level business forums dedicated to improving economic collaboration and investment opportunities.
Multiple bilateral agreements will be signed during the visit to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between Sri Lanka and China.
This visit marks President Disanayake’s second international state visit since taking office and is seen as a crucial step in solidifying the longstanding partnership between Sri Lanka and China. It is expected that this visit will greatly enhance bilateral relations, especially in trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
