President instructs the implementation of a youth-led development plan for the country

Along with the seventy fifth Independence Day, beneath the theme, ‘Nationwide Youth Platform’, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed to implement a youth-led development enterprise defending your full island to make Sri Lanka a developed nation by the one hundredth Independence Celebration (2048) by the use of youth ideas, experience and interventions.

A dialogue regarding this program was held yesterday (19) on the Presidential Secretariat beneath the patronage of the President. All through this dialogue, the plans related to the occasion of the important thing cities in each district as vacationer cities formulated by the lecturers and faculty college students of all the universities have been provided to the President.
Accordingly, the Jaffna and Vavuniya School, specializing within the Jaffna district and the Kelaniya School and Rajarata School provided tourism plans related to the Anuradhapura district.

The Ruhuna School, Sabaragamuwa School and Sir John Kotelawala Defence School collectively submitted plans for the Galle districts and the Colombo School, Sri Jayawardenepura School, School of Improbable Arts and the Moratuwa School collectively submitted their plans for the Colombo district.

Peradeniya, Wayamba and Uva Wellassa Universities collectively provided the plans related to the Kandy district whereas the Jap and South Jap Universities provided the plans for the Batticaloa district.
Expressing his appreciation for all the plans which have been submitted, the President talked about that private-sector financial assist could also be sought to assist this program.

Mentioning that it is a excellent improvement for the school group to contribute to the occasion of the nation, Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe appreciated the school group’s involvement in these duties and endorsed their contribution.

Senior Advisor to the President on Nationwide Security and Chief of Workers to the President Sagala Ratnayake, Secretary to the President Saman Ekanayake, Chairman of the School Grants Charge Dr Sampath Amaratunga, Secretary to the Ministry of Finance Mahinda Siriwardena, School Vice Chancellors and officers of line institutions joined this dialogue by the use of on-line experience.
