Veteran singer and musician Sanath Nandasiri has handed away this morning (March 28) on the age of 81.
The President of the Sri Lanka Singers’ Affiliation Janaka Wickramasinghe introduced to the media that Sanath Nandasiri handed away at his residence as a result of extreme sickness.
He mentioned Funeral preparations could be introduced later.

In 2018, a ceremony was held on the Western Province Aesthetic College Resort Auditorium to pay homage to Prof. Sanath Nandasiri with a live performance titled ‘Ninnada 2018 Thunpath Rata Swara Dehana’.
Through the occasion, then President Maithripala Sirisena offered a particular honorary award to Nandasiri.
In 2019, a set of 100 lyrics and chords of Nandasiri’s songs titled “Rasanandaya”, was launched on the Sri Lanka Basis Institute.
