Colombo (Information 1st) – The Capital Maharaja Group (CMG) has appointed Shameer Rasooldeen to its Most important Board as a Group Director. At 37 years of age, he’s the youngest sitting member of CMG’s Most important Board.
Previous to his appointment to the Board, Shameer was Director/CEO at A.F. Jones Exporters Personal Restricted, the export arm of the Group.
A well known media persona, Shameer is a CNN Fellow, a Dag Hammarsjkold Fellow and a Chevening Fellow. He was among the many Prime 20 Younger Leaders in Asia awarded by the Asia Society in 2017 and is a world award winner for his reporting.
He was adjudged Sri Lanka’s Excellent Younger Persona of the Yr by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 2014.
A previous pupil of D.S.Senanayake Faculty, Colombo, Shameer joined CMG in 2004 as a information reporter at Information 1st and on the age of 25 was appointed as Director heading the English Information Desk.
