Vesak Day Message 2025 (B.E. 2569)
It is a privilege to share my Vesak day message with all citizens of the nation during this sacred period when the Buddhist community across Sri Lanka unites to honor the Lord Buddha, with both material and spiritual offerings, commemorating the threefold sacred events of the Lord Buddha’s life.
Since ancient times, the teachings of the Lord Buddha have profoundly influenced the lives of the Sri Lankan people, forming a great legacy we have inherited through the Dhamma. In our country, where diverse ethnicities and religions live in harmony, the joint celebration of a major religious festival like Vesak is a powerful testament to that unity.
This year’s Vesak day marks the first celebrated under the current government, established with the vision of “A Prosperous Country, a Beautiful Life.” I believe this Vesak season is a time to heal hearts and minds, particularly as our nation embarks on a path of meaningful transformation. Through this message, I take the opportunity to invite all citizens to unite in mind and spirit, bound by mutual respect and compassion.
I join all Sri Lankans in praying that the flames of war burning in various parts of the world may be extinguished, and that all people across the globe may be blessed with lives of happiness and peace.
May you all have a blessed Vesak!
