There has been a significant amount of rainfall in Upstream areas of Malwathu Oya as of 1.00 pm today.
After analyzing the current rainfall situation and river water levels at the hydrological station in Malwathu Oya, it has been warned that there is a possibility of a Minor flood occurring in lowline areas of Malwathu Oya valley including Vengalacheddikulam, Madu, Mussalai, and Nanaddan DS Divisions.
This could lead to the inundation of Off Roads that run through the flood plains of Malwathu Oya.
Residents in these areas and vehicle drivers passing through are urged to be vigilant. Disaster Management Authorities are advised to take necessary actions to address this situation.
