Water tariffs in Sri Lanka have been revised with impact from August 01, 2023.
An Extraordinary Gazette notification (2343/28) on this regard has been issued when it comes to Part 84 of the Nationwide Water Provide & Drainage Board Regulation No. 02 of 1974 by Minister of Water Provide Jeevan Thondaman.
The Nationwide Water Provide and Drainage Board (NWSDB) yesterday (August 02) stated on common water tariffs shall be elevated by between 30 and 50 p.c on common for shoppers below all classes apart from for low-income households.
Accordingly, the tariffs have been revised for all shoppers provided with water from the water provide schemes of the Nationwide Water Provide & Drainage Board apart from these categorized below Samurdhi recipients and Tenement Gardens.
New home water tariff as follows:
- Items 00-05: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 60 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 300
- Items 06-10: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 80 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 300
- Items 11-15: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 100 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 300
- Items 16-20: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 110 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 400
- Items 21-25: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 130 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 500
- Items 26-30: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 160 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 600
- Items 31-40: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 180 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 1,500
- Items 41-50: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 210 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 3,000
- Items 51-75: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 240 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 3,500
- Items 76-100: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 270 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 4,000
- Over 100 items: Utilization cost per unit is Rs. 300 and month-to-month service cost is Rs. 4,500
